Tiae was cold. It was unusually chilly for this time of year and the haysik bushes waved gently in the uncharacteristically windy night. In this province of NIRI there was rarely a breeze, but today her fluffs of pearly white hair could barely be kept under control. It whipped around her golden green eyes forcing them into submissive blinking. She reached her three lanky fingers to her forehead and held her hair back from her face. Her usually envied, healthy, orange glow was now pale in response to the sudden chill in the air.Her large eyes searched the terrain for her mate's MOT (mode of transportation) as she braced against the cold. Several passed, but his was not one of them and Peitum was over a half an hour late. This was not unusual for him, he wasn't one of the most punctual men she had known. So, she worried once again as her mind began to play out the familiar scenarios of doom that presented themselves whenever he was late. She reminded herself that his maneuvering was not particularly reckless, but she always thought of the others who handled their MOTs in careless ways, guiding them too quickly and creating a hazardous situation no matter how safely one maneuvered his own.

Jacki resides in Midothian, Virginia just outside of Richmond, Virginia where she was born and spent most of her life. For the past twenty years, she has lived in the suburb of Midlothian and enjoyed the landscape of county living. Jacki was always intrigued by science and science fiction stories have always been her favorite genre. It is no wonder she fell right into writing her own and with a creative imagination, she is able to bring imagined planets and races to life in such detail that the reader can actually imagine being there!
